The Death of Business as Usual.

Matthew 11:5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

I don’t know if you understand, but Jesus Christ is alive today and he’s still doing this stuff.

Today is the death of business as usual. I can’t just taste the glory of God and go back to “the every day” I can’t live in my “flesh” any longer. I would rather live in the provision and abundance and love of the Father than live in mans expectation of me. Today I’m alive in Christ.

Today I understand that we have a higher calling. That we must live for Him and not for the fear of man and the “wisdom” of man or by our own understanding. But we need to live by the Spirit, who is life and peace.

There is a whole new level for us to reach! There is freedom and love, there is unhindered community, there is no judgement! There is no stinky religiosity! There is only the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!

Work is good, and work is fine. Work is a great virtue. But understand: put God in his rightful place and let him tell you what to do and how to do it! “Trust in the Lord your God and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths STRAIGHT!” Trust Him!

Today I give my life fully to the Gospel. Today I decide to live like the bible is true, even the crazy stuff like people being raised from the dead. Today I put action into my faith and decide to rest, move, listen, and abide in Christ.

Today I know the awesome loving touch of the Holy Spirit in a new and tangible way. Laying on the floor washed over with Love.

We need to go back to a child-like love.

THE Jireh...

Sue: “So, when our support check to Busoma comes out we’ll only have 3 dollars in the bank.”

Jer: ” So what your saying is, if God doesn’t provide for us we’ll have nothing…”

Sue: “yeah”

*Literally 5 seconds later the Phone rings…”hey, I saw your couch on Craigslist and I want to buy it.” ($90)

*Jer walks about the yard praising God and laughing out loud.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts... Col 3:15

It’s no easy task, but it’s what we need. It will happen if we LET it. In order to let God’s peace rule we have to drop what we’re doing and be willing to listen. Maybe try not to just guess what God wants for us, but really listen and understand His will and direction for us.

“…then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

“…plans to give you hope and a future.”

“…I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full.”

I’ve recently had more of a hunger for God, and the peace that comes with that is so good. It’s the peace that I’ve been missing out on for some time now —

I have just been realizing / remembering more lately that we can push so hard to get things done in our own strength, but with God’s Spirit the doors will fly open and the walls will fall down.

“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

I want to be even hungrier. I want to be done with business as usual.

Oh man, the stuff that my pops has accumulated over the years. Might need some help unloading the goods my fellas.

Here’s to driving a uhaul for 12 hours.
